Newcomer Jason Troisi has already established himself with his trademark mystique and contemporary take on classic clothing.
He took his natural passion and talent to the Parsons School of Design in New York and later studied abroad in Paris, France. His talent did not go unrecognized, as he received the coveted Gold Thimble award his senior year in fashion school from designer Gene Meyer for his looks in men’s wear.
Troisi struggled to find a job after finishing fashion school, which in the most part was due to his unwillingness to sacrifice his integrity. He took a hiatus from the fashion world for eight years and, at the age of 30, decided to re-enter through various fashion competitions. He tried out for “Project Runway” season 7 but successfully joined the show’s cast the following year, season 8.
Troisi premiered his first runway show on September 7, 2011 at Exit Art in Manhattan, and has received outstanding reviews for his clothing construction, risk taking, and production of the show.
